Pent Hall took Campus Entertainment to another level last Saturday, June 7, 2025,  with the much-anticipated Havana 2.0 Artist Night held at the Pent Hall Carpark. This year’s edition saw a significant upgrade in stage setup, a massive platform adorned with stunning lighting and captivating aesthetics, setting the perfect tone for an unforgettable night. The event featured top-tier performances from some of the biggest names in African music.

Headlining the show was the reigning TGMA Reggae Dancehall Artist of the Year, Stoneboy, who got the crowd on their feet with his energetic set. Hip-Hop Artist of the Year, Kweku Smoke, also thrilled fans with back-to-back hits. King Paluta made a powerful appearance and Nigeria’s very own Mayukun, their only built act from outside Ghana, had the audience singing along to every word of his performance.

The event attracted an overwhelming turnout with students from various halls and even from beyond campus trooping in to witness the spectacle. Some students of the University of Ghana shared mixed thoughts on the event when Universe Entertainment caught up with them.

They should bring in security measures because I witnessed a fight amongst the people and see because it’s open to the public, not just the students. People, I mean, they just fight and then cause confusion like that. And then I also saw a video stranding online of two people being intimate in a car. One level 400 female student highlighted.

One lady from the School of Performing Arts Department of the University of Ghana expressed:

This year’s Pent was boring compared to last year and it’s always packed. People were complaining of their things not getting like sold out, you know, and people were like selling like the same stuff. You go here, there’s right, there’s indomie, there’s indomie, there’s indomie like everywhere. And I think I like the fact that they allowed, like new artists to come and perform because our very own Roy was able to perform. With Paint Hall successfully ending their Hall Week, other halls are now inspired and challenged to match or surpass the standards set by Havana 2.0 in upcoming Hall Weeks.

As the Pent Hall Week celebrations come to an end, Pent continues to carve a lucrative name for itself as it continues to give students a great show every year.
