Newly inducted Legon Hall Master, Dr. Alfred Ato Yankson, has assured residents of the hall of consistent water supply amidst recent shortages that have affected parts of the university.

Speaking on Campus Exclusive on Radio Univers on April 14, 2024, Dr. Yankson explained that the hall has taken proactive steps to address the water situation by drilling boreholes to supplement the low water pressure from the Ghana Water Company.

“When it comes to the water situation, I think currently Legon Hall has moved away from the terrible water situation. By the grace of God, we have dug some boreholes that are supplementing the low pressure from the Ghana Water Company, and so we are making progress.”

Dr. Yankson also revealed that extensive renovation works are underway to enhance the comfort and safety of students.

“We are doing a lot when it comes to renovations of the blocks. Two blocks have been fully renovated. Like we did last year, we painted every single room at Annex A and addressed plumbing issues, including leakages. We are doing our best.”

Dr. Alfred Ato Yankson, a seasoned lecturer at the Department of Physics at the University of Ghana, previously served as Acting Hall Tutor for two years before his official induction as Hall Master on Friday, March 28, 2025.
