Mamelodi Sundowns, Al Ahly, and Pyramids FC have all secured their places in the semi-finals of this season’s CAF Champions League after hard-fought quarter-final ties.

Sundowns went into the second leg against Espérance de Tunis with a narrow one-goal lead from the first leg. Despite a tense 0-0 draw at the Stade Olympique Hammadi Agrebi, the South African side advanced on aggregate to book a semi-final spot.

Al Ahly, the defending champions, hosted Al Hilal following a slim first-leg win. The Egyptian giants completed the job with another solid performance, finishing 2-0 on aggregate to set up a mouth-watering semi-final clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

Pyramids FC also advanced, despite a scare from Moroccan side FAR Rabat. The Egyptian club held a commanding 4-1 lead from the first leg, but FAR Rabat fought back to win the second leg 2-0. Still, Pyramids held on to progress 4-3 on aggregate.

They now await the winner of the tie between MC Alger and Orlando Pirates, with the South African side holding a 1-0 advantage heading into the second leg scheduled for today.
