The United States Embassy in Ghana has reaffirmed its commitment to addressing the concerns of Ghanaian students facing delays in obtaining expedited student visa appointments.

Numerous applicants have voiced their dissatisfaction with the prolonged delays in the visa application process in recent weeks. Affected students are worried about missing academic deadlines and the potential impact on their educational opportunities, prompting calls for swift intervention to resolve the bottlenecks and expedite the issuance of their visas.

During an appearance on the media, the Visa Chief Stacy Comp at the U.S. Embassy in Accra, assured that she would follow up on the issue to ensure it is resolved.

Comp acknowledged the frustrations of the affected applicants and emphasized the embassy’s dedication to resolving the matter promptly and effectively.

She indicated that she would request a comprehensive list of students currently waiting for expedited student visa appointments

“I can assure you that I will take this issue back, investigate what is going on in the system, and contact our third-party contractor to identify the problem. I will also ask for the list of students who have been waiting in the expedited student visa appointment queue and see if we can accommodate their requests”

“I apologize for the issues caused by our third-party contractor and want to reassure you that we truly appreciate the interest in studying in the United States. The ability to facilitate these bilateral exchanges is foundational to the U.S.-Ghana relationship.”
