The Ghana Police Service in conjunction with the Electoral Commission of Ghana have moved the collation processes of 4 remaining constituencies to the Police Training School in Tesano to create a congenial atmosphere for all stakeholders.

The move forms part of the security agencies drive to make sure that EC officials and all stakeholders involved in the process are safe and able to work without the chaos that has characterized some of the processes to tally results in such locations .

Speaking to pressmen at the National Election Security Taskforce press room at the Police Headquarters in Accra ,Chief Inspector  Priscilla Nkrumah  Peprah revealed that upon security advice and intelligence ,the collation processes were transferred to the security installation to guarantee the safety of all stakeholders and enable EC officers to do their job in a calm environment .

” Intelligence picked up by our officials on events going on around collation centres have informed our men deployed to the grounds to advise that the outstanding 4 constituencies results collation for the Eastern Region be moved to our Police Training School in Tesano where we can guarantee the safety of all stakeholders concerned with the procedure whilst maintaining a lawful and orderly atmosphere .

Similar security measures are being put in place in the Ashanti and Bono East Regions to safeguard the processes especially given the tensions surrounding the process in those areas as well “.

The Police Service remains committed to creating a decent and congenial atmosphere for all actors in the Elections procedures to thrive and go about their lawful duties without threats of violence and fear imposed on them .

The Service advises all stakeholders to have faith in their mission to protect the peace and calm across the country post the Elections .
