In a recent interview with MzGee, Joana Gyan Cudjoe, wife of Ghanaian musician Keche Andrew and a parliamentary candidate for Amenfi Central, shared an intriguing story about her early relationship with her husband. Joana disclosed that to be sure of Keche’s genuine feelings, she disguised herself as a woman of modest means, testing whether his affection was based on her personality or her wealth.
The interview, aired on November 13, 2024, saw Joana opening up about the lengths she went to in order to confirm Keche’s sincerity.
“I didn’t know much about his personal life, and with all I was hearing at the time, I wanted to be certain he loved me for who I am,” she explained.
To create the impression of a more modest lifestyle, Joana often took taxis or public transport, known locally as trotro, when visiting him.
“When I arrived, I would call him to pick me up and even ask him to pay for my fare,” Joana revealed.
She explained that at times, her unannounced requests to cover her fare would frustrate Keche, especially when she didn’t let him know in advance that she was using public transport.
“He would complain about why I hadn’t informed him beforehand, but despite his frustration, he always came through, and that’s when I realized he really loved me,” she added.
This unconventional approach allowed Joana to see Keche’s true intentions, proving to her that his feelings went beyond her financial status. Joana’s story has since captivated many, offering a unique perspective on relationships and the measures some may take to find true love.
Through her thoughtful test, Joana found the authenticity she was looking for in her relationship. Now, as a political figure and wife to one of Ghana’s beloved musicians, Joana’s story of love and trust has resonated with fans and followers, giving them a glimpse into the genuine bond she shares with Keche Andrew.
