The long-standing rivalry between Nigerian Afrobeat musicians Wizkid and Davido has resurfaced, with heated exchanges on social media.

The latest spat unfolded on Tuesday after Davido teased a snippet of his upcoming 2024 single.

Coincidentally, Wizkid was also preparing to release the first track from his much-anticipated ”Morayo” album, but tensions flared when Davido’s associate, Black Tycoone, appeared to mock Wizkid for delaying his album release. He tweeted, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already,” which fans interpreted as a jab at Wizkid.

In response, Wizkid took to X, throwing shade at Davido’s camp with comments that many fans saw as aimed at Davido himself and not just his camp.

A Davido supporter then fired back, accusing Wizkid of using the rivalry to stir up publicity.

However, Wizkid dismissed the notion of clout-chasing, replying with strong criticism of Davido’s talent, calling him “wack” and saying he doesn’t beef with such people who have no talent.

This back-and-forth has reignited the age-old debate between the two camps over who reigns supreme when it comes to Afrobeats.

“I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!”
