The Head Coach of Dreams FC, Abdul Karim Zito, has expressed his disappointment with the performance of his goalkeeper, Gidios Aseako, against Hearts of Lions on Monday.
This follows Dreams FC’s 2-2 draw with the Kpando-based side in matchday 3 of the Ghana Premier League at the Nii Adjei Kraku II Sports Complex.
In his post-match interview, Abdul Karim Zito primarily attributed the team’s draw to his goalkeeper, Gidios Aseako, referring to him as displaying “tactical indiscipline.” He stated that his keeper is trying to imitate Manchester United and Cameroon’s goalkeeper, André Onana.
“I’m seriously disappointed with the results. We refer to it as tactical indiscipline. During the second half, I told my goalkeeper, this Onana things–you have to vary your approach and understand the implications. Don’t do it if your players are not ready.”
The former Asante Kotoko coach also elaborated on what he means by “Onana things.”
“What I mean by ‘Onana things’ is that you’re playing like a footballer instead of taking the simpler route. So it pains me. For me, I’m very disappointed.”
Hearts of Lions have earned five out of nine points, while Dreams FC, still unbeaten, have yet to secure a win after three consecutive draws. However, they will be aiming to clinch their first victory in their next encounter.
