Manchester City’s anchorman, Rodri, could miss the remainder of the 2024/25 season following an injury sustained in the match against Arsenal on Sunday.

The Spanish midfielder underwent medical tests on Monday, which indicated that he is suffering from an anterior cruciate ligament tear in his right knee, and he is likely to undergo surgery in Barcelona.

Rodri was substituted in the 21st minute of Sunday’s showdown against Arsenal, which ended in a 4-goal thriller at the Etihad.

Rodri had previously enjoyed a remarkable 74-game unbeaten streak with Pep Guardiola’s team, a run that spanned 475 days.

However, the game against Arsenal on Sunday was Rodri’s first start of the 2024/25 Premier League season.
