Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, founder and leader of the Movement for Change (M4C), has officially named Kwame Owusu Danso as his running mate ahead of the upcoming elections. This announcement comes on the heels of Kyerematen’s recent submission of his presidential candidacy to the Electoral Commission.

According to Mr. Kyerematen, Kwame Owusu Danso’s selection is a strategic move to bolster the campaign’s appeal across diverse voter groups due to his recognition for his extensive experience and broad expertise in Ghanaian politics.

In a statement, Kyerematen highlighted that Danso’s nomination aligns with the aspirations of Ghana’s youth, seeking more inclusive governance.

“I promised to you and today I present to you a young person to be my vice presidential nominee and I have done so by nominating a very fine gentleman, lawyer by profession, a political activist and broadcast journalist and someone who has been fighting for the people by name of Kwame Owusu Danso.”

Danso’s track record of advocating for public causes, including quality governance, enhances his credibility. His collaboration with prominent figures such as Dr. Lloyd Amoah of the University of Ghana and governance experts like Dr. Kojo Asante and Dr. Franklin Oduro of the Centre for Democratic Development (CDD) underscores his commitment to transparency and accountability.

As a founding member of the Forum for Accountable Governance (FAG), Danso has been a vocal advocate for electoral reform, environmental governance, human rights, and anti-corruption efforts. His nomination is expected to resonate strongly with the youth, empowering them to have a more prominent voice in shaping national policy.
