Dr. Bossman Asare, deputy chairman of the Electoral Commission (EC) in charge of corporate services, has emphatically reafirmed the EC’s commitment to upholding the integrity of the upcoming elections.

Speaking at a press briefing on September 2, Dr. Bossman emphasized that the commission will not protect any electoral officer—permanent or temporary—who is found guilty of malpractice.

“The commission assures the public that it will not shield any officer involved in electoral malpractices. We are committed to ensuring that such individuals face the full extent of the law.”

This assurance comes in response to concerns from various political parties, including the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which has voiced skepticism regarding the EC’s impartiality and ability to conduct unbiased elections.

Dr. Bossman further stated that the commission is dedicated to safeguarding Ghana’s interests and will not compromise the nation’s peace or electoral integrity. He reassured the public that the EC remains resolute in its mission to uphold a transparent and democratic electoral process.
