The Ghana Football Association on Tuesday (23, July) has announced that its top flight league season will not feature official midweek matches during the upcoming campaign.

The league is expected to commence on the weekend of Friday (6 September 2024) to Monday (9 September 2024), across all nine League centers with no Official Midweek Matchday, unlike previous seasons.

This unfamiliar decision, aimed at alleviating the travel burden on clubs, underscores a significant shift in the league’s scheduling.

Therefore, the midweek will be used to clear outstanding games by Samartex and Nsotreman FC, who will be participating in the CAF Champions League and the Confederation cup respectively or rescheduled games.

The prestigious Ghana Premier League will go on a one week break in the lead up to the December 7, 2024 General Elections to create room for players and officials to perform their civic duties and responsibilities.

The conclusion of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League on June 8, 2025, will give Clubs ample time to fulfill CAF’s Club Licensing requirement ahead of their Africa adventure in the 2025-26 Season.

Meanwhile the Champion of Champions is scheduled to take place on Sunday, 1 September 2024 at a-yet-to-be-known venue.
