With just two games to end the 2023/24 Season, FC Samrtex have been crowned Champions after a hard-fought 1-0 win against Bibiani Goldstars in the Ghana Premier League Matchday 32 fixture.
Samartex FC, popularly known as the Timber Giants, gained promotion to the Ghana Premier League in the 2022/23 season from Ghana’s second-tier league. The team in their first season accumulated 46 points as they occupied the 10th position after 34 games in the 2022/23 season.
The Timber Giants, after bolstering the team with some experienced names like Emmanuel Keyekeh and Richard Baidoo, have managed to prove all critics wrong as they have clinched their first-ever Ghana Premier League trophy under head coach Nurudeen Amadu.
Samartex currently has two games to play, which include a trip to the North to face Karela United and a coronation game at home against Accra Lions.
Coach Nurudeen Amadu and his team currently occupy the 1st position on the Ghana Premier League table with 58 points after 32 games played. The team will also represent Ghana in next season’s Total Energies CAF Champions League for the first time in its history.
