On April 30, 2025, Africans worldwide rallied in support of Captain Ibrahim Traoré, President of Burkina Faso, under the unified call of “Hands Off the AES!” The demonstrations, held in several countries, including Burkina Faso, Ghana, and Liberia, sent a strong message to the West.

One notable figure who caught attention, was Jamaican reggae singer Hezron Clarke, also known as “Kwame Bonsu.” Hezron, who discovered his Ghanaian roots in 2023, expressed solidarity with Captain Traoré through an acoustic performance on his Instagram live stream during the worldwide protest.

The Reggae star undertook a tour dubbed “Hezron Man on A Mission tour”  to Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, and Ivory Coast to perform and and connect with his African people.

However, his experience at some African national  borders, particularly in Nigeria, left a sour taste. He was humiliated and forced to pay a bribe, which sparked his anger and made him question the unity of African people.

Hezron was inspired by Captain Traoré’s efforts to develop Burkina Faso and promote African unity. He threw his support behind the president, expressing his willingness to meet him in person.

During the April 30th worldwide solidarity protests, Hezron hosted an Instagram Live performance, dedicating his music to the cause. His acoustic set featured some of his most powerful tracks, including:

“Man On A Mission” – a tribute to Captain Ibrahim Traoré and his revolutionary path.

“Kuja Nyumbani” – a call for black people to reconnect with their African roots.

“Warriors Haven” – an anthem honoring the freedom fighters and ancestors who laid down their lives for Africa’s liberation.

“Save The Children” – a heartfelt plea to the world to prioritize and protect the future of children everywhere.

Hezron’s solidarity with Captain Traoré serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of African unity and the need for collective action against external interference. His music and message continue to inspire Africans worldwide to stand together in support of their leaders and their continent.

Through his music, Hezron Clarke continues to be a voice for unity, justice, and African renaissance — a true man on a mission.
