In a recent revelation, Sally Mann, a Ghanaian entertainment pundit and show host, disclosed that she, alongside other media personalities, had devised a plan to end the career of popular dancehall artist Shatta Wale. Speaking on Adom TV on November 10, 2024, Sally explained that the aim was to propel Stonebwoy, another prominent dancehall musician, towards Grammy success while diminishing Shatta Wale’s influence in the industry.
“We held caucus meetings to push Stonebwoy towards winning a Grammy. The agenda was clear: we are supporting you (Stonebwoy) because Shatta Wale doesn’t respect traditional media. But now, you (Stonebwoy) are deviating from the plan by responding to Shatta Wale. How dare you respond to him?” she said.
According to Sally, the decision to oppose Shatta Wale stemmed from what she described as the artist’s consistent disrespect towards Ghanaian media personalities. The group believed that by sidelining him, they could shift the focus onto Stonebwoy, helping him secure international recognition and ultimately win a Grammy award.
“The agenda was to take you to the Grammys, and as for him (Shatta Wale), his career is over. He is now a pensioner. Look at how well you’ve done over the past three years, even with your ‘5th Dimension’ album. But now you’re making things difficult for us. Don’t be a puppet for Shatta Wale,” she added.
This revelation has sparked conversations across social media and among fans, with some supporting the strategy while others criticize it as an unfair attack on Shatta Wale’s career. The artist, known for his hit song “On God,” has yet to respond publicly to these allegations.
