The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the withdrawal of eight players from the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Angola and Niger.
The affected players are:

2. Inaki Williams (hamstring injury)
3. Jonas Adjetey (setback in recovery from previous injury)
4. Tariq Lamptey (calf discomfort)
5. Jerome Opoku (chronic back pain)
6. Alexander Djiku (aggravated hamstring injury)
7. Ibrahim Osman (hamstring injury)

According to the GFA, the players’ respective clubs and medical teams have confirmed their unavailability for the qualifiers.
Injury Details:
– Inaki Williams picked up a hamstring injury on November 7 and has not been able to train since.
– Tariq Lamptey’s calf discomfort worsened last week, and he is currently undergoing rehabilitation with his club.
– Jonas Adjetey suffered a setback in his recovery during his last league game on November 9.
– Jerome Opoku’s chronic back pain worsened during a Süper Lig game against Besiktas on November 10.
– Antoine Semenyo is nursing a patella tendon injury due to overload of games and will see a tendon specialist.
– Alexander Djiku aggravated an existing hamstring injury in his last game on November 10.
– Ibrahim Osman picked up a hamstring injury in his last outing for his club and was substituted at halftime.
Impact on Black Stars:
The withdrawals come as a blow to the Black Stars, who are struggling to qualify for the 2025 AFCON.
The black stars currently have 2 points from 4 matches and must win their remaining matches and rely on sudan losing their last two games to qualify for the 2025 afcon.
Elfsborg defender Terry Yegbe makes a late entry into the squad with the GFA, yet to announce other replacements for the withdrawn players.
