After the balloting at the Electoral Commission on Friday evening, this is how the presidential candidates for the 2024 election will appear on the ballot paper.
The New Patriotic Party has picked the number one slot for Presidential Race in the upcoming elections on December 7, 2024.
After the Electoral Commission published the list of confirmed Candidates for the Presidential race, it held a balloting session for the nine Political Parties who qualified and the four independent Candidates.
After what seemed a controversial moment regarding transparency in the process which saw the independent Candidate and leader of the New Force storm out of the room, the NPP led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia picked the the number one position with the largest opposition party led by John Dramani Mahama picking the number 8 position on the ballot paper.
After the nine political parties, the independent candidates also had their turn with the Kofi Koranteng picking the 10th position and the Monarch Butterfly Army picking 13.
Below is how the representation will be;
- NPP
- GCPP
- GFP
- GUM
- LPG
- NDP
- CPP
- NDC
- APC.
- Kofi Koranteng
- George Twum Barimah
- Nana Kwame Bediako
- Alan Kyeremateng
By this, the representation of the parliamentary candidates on the ballot will follow suit with the arrangements of the Presidential arrangements. In a constituency where a political party doesn’t file for a parliamentary candidate, the order reshuffles.
Earlier, Jean Mensa, Chairperson of the EC, announced that several presidential aspirants had been disqualified from participating in the December 7, 2024, elections due to their failure to correct errors on their nomination forms.
Despite being given ample time to address the issues, the disqualified candidates were unable to meet the necessary requirements.
Among those disqualified are Bernard Mornah of the People’s National Convention (PNC) and Janet Nabla of the People’s National Party (PNP).
