Director of sports at University of Ghana sports directorate, Dr. Bello Bitugu has intimated that the team representing the University of Ghana at this year’s Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) games are well prepared for this year’s contest at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
The University of Ghana team ended preparations for the 27th GUSA Games scheduled for 4th to 19th November, 2022.
Speaking to Univers Sports ahead of the games, Director of sports at the University of Ghana sports directorate, Dr. Bello Bitugu said team UG is fully prepared for the GUSA Games.
This year’s GUSA is going to be extremely competitive, a very tough one and we would like to be part of history and change makers. We are ready, very very ready and yes we are prepared and we are going in with our full force. Join us, support us, come with us, UG is ready and here comes UG, team Legon 2022,
Today we have 16,17 and 18 year old athletes that are supposed to be shaped. We are going to discover, unearth talents who will one day come to represent Ghana.
University of Ghana will participate in Athletics, Badminton, Basketball, Beach Volleyball, Football, Goalball, Handball, Hockey, Netball, Table Tennis, Tennis and Volleyball at the Games.
The initial 302 student athletes invited to camp were later pruned to 250 after a week of camping.
The UG contingent is made up of two hundred and fifty (250) student athletes, two (2) student Leaders, nineteen (19) coaches, six (6) sports organizers, three (3) masseuses, a physiotherapist, a nurse, and an equipment officer.
The university of Ghana community is anticipating and hoping team UG excels at the GUSA games.
