Ghanaian blogger and content creator, Felix Adomako Mensah, popularly known as Zionfelix, has called on fellow bloggers and digital creators to continuously upgrade their skills to stay relevant in today’s fast-changing media landscape.
Speaking on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z with Kwame Dadzie, Zionfelix stressed that while many bloggers did not have formal training in journalism or media schools, the profession now demands much more than passion and basic content posting. He urged practitioners to embrace learning on the job and adapt to modern trends.
“I think we all need to upgrade ourselves; we all need to learn on the job. Most of us didn’t sit in the classroom of GIJ or attend any media class. We all found passion in the job and entered into it. So, if this is what we want to do for a long time, we must keep learning. How we started years ago is not how we are now,” he said.
Zionfelix further highlighted that today’s content creation is not just about writing or filming but requires creativity, technical know-how, and professional presentation.
“Now it’s not just about writing or splashing videos online. A lot goes into it. People want to watch something appealing, so you need to know how to edit and package your content beautifully. You’ve not paid anyone to watch your video—if it’s poor quality, they’ll just move to the next person,” he explained.
He also encouraged the New Media Association of Ghana to provide regular training programs that will help bloggers sharpen their craft and adapt to the demands of the digital age.
Zionfelix remains one of Ghana’s most influential digital voices, widely respected for shaping entertainment conversations through his blog, interviews, and lifestyle content.
