We will restore the economy – Akuffo-Addo assures Ghanaians

President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo has assured Ghanaians that Ghana will be able to restore and recover the economy.

The President was speaking at the Jubilee Park in Bolgatanga during the celebration of the International Labour day on May 1st; 2023.

Speaking to the general public; he mentioned that as the country is moving towards digitization, entrepreneurship and other programmes, there is hope that the economy will be restored for Ghana to be a safe place for business and investment.

According to him; Ghana would eventually emerge stronger from the hardships faced to become a great avenue for investment from the following measure

“Transitioning to a digital economy to boost productivity, increasing tax collection and the formalization of the economy and the strengthening of policies to adapt to and mitigate climate change for inclusive growth. Ghana will emerge stronger from this difficult period. I assure you that by dint of hard work and creativity, we will turn things right. We will work to help return our economy to the days of high growth rates and make our country again the best place to do business and the most attractive destination for investment” the president said.

The president also appealed to Ghanaians to maintain peaceful co-existence among themselves.

He urged the public to appreciate the peaceful relations that co-exists between them; making sure to never take that peace for granted.

“On this august occasion, I appeal to all Ghanaians including Organised Labour to build on the good rapport and excellent relations that exist between us. The peace we enjoy today should never be taken for granted,” he said.
