Member of Parliament for the Klottey-Korle Constituency, Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, has condemned the fatal stabbing of a student at Kinbu Senior High School, describing the incident as both tragic and senseless.

‎In a statement issued on Friday, August 1, 2025, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings expressed her deep shock and sorrow following the incident, which occurred on Thursday, July 31, and resulted in the loss of a young life.

‎“This is a tragic loss that has left me deeply saddened. Violence has no place in our schools!”

‎She further pledged her commitment to collaborating with the Ghana Police Service and other relevant institutions to ensure a thorough investigation is conducted and justice is served.

‎“I strongly condemn this act of violence and I will collaborate with the Ghana Police Service and other relevant authorities to ensure that thorough investigations are swiftly done and that justice is served,” she said.

‎Beyond addressing the immediate concerns, Dr. Agyeman-Rawlings emphasized the need for long-term solutions to violence in schools. She called for stronger partnerships between the Ghana Education Service, school authorities, community leaders, and security agencies to prioritize safety and well-being across all schools.

‎“Our children must feel safe in their learning environments,” she stated, adding that mental health support and preventive measures must be urgently scaled up.

‎The MP also urged students to report suspicious behavior and asked parents to stay actively involved in the lives of their children.

‎As investigations continue, her call reinforces growing concern over school safety in Ghana and the need for swift, coordinated action to prevent such tragedies in the future.

‎The Ghana Police Service is yet to release full details on the incident, as investigations are still ongoing.

‎15-year-old first-year student Addib Alhassan, was fatally stabbed on July 31 during an altercation reportedly sparked by a heated argument with a classmate.

‎The exact cause of the confrontation remains unclear. However, reports indicate that the student was initially rushed to the Adabraka Polyclinic and later transferred to the Ridge Hospital due to the severity of his injuries but was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.

‎The thoughts and prayers of the entire community remain with the bereaved family during this difficult time.
