Vice President, Professor Jane Naana Agyemang flies abroad for medical treatment

The Vice President of the Republic, Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang has been reported ill from Friday, March 28 after close of working hours after which she was rushed to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for treatment.

The information available to the press, indicates that she suddenly fell ill after close of work last week which required urgent medical attention.

In a press release signed by the Minister for Government Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye, revealed that the Veep was taken to the University of Ghana Medical Centre for some tests and assessments by medical officers to inform the next line of action.

Subsequent details stated that the preliminary tests and treatments were successfully done by the doctors after which they advised state authorities to fly her out for advanced treatment in line with established protocols for high ranking government officials.

Furthermore, the latest information is that the Vice President is currently stable and responding to treatment in the United Kingdom.

The Office of the President assures the good people of Ghana that the situation is under control for now, whilst the Vice President, Professor Opoku Agyemang has sent her appreciation to the general public for the prayers and best wishes.
