Veteran Gospel musician Rev. George Owusu Mensah passes away at 64

Renowned gospel musician and cleric Rev. George Owusu Mensah, best known for his inspiring song “Matwen Ewurade Anim,” has sadly passed away at the age of 64.

The respected pastor and singer died at dawn on Sunday, November 10, 2024, as confirmed by Rev. Mrs. Mary Fosu, Senior Associate Pastor of Grace Baptist Church, Amakom, where he served as Head Pastor.

Rev. Mensah’s son, gospel singer Kofi Owusu Peprah, shared a heartfelt tribute on Facebook, expressing his grief:

“Perplexed, but not in despair!!! Thank you Daddy, see you on the Resurrection Day 🙏🏻🙏🏻💔 #everytimeisworshiptime.”

Rev. George Owusu Mensah’s legacy in gospel music and his commitment to ministry have left a lasting impact on the church and music community, with many mourning his loss and honoring his contributions to both faith and song.
