In the warmth of the Christmas season, Nkonimadom Kwabena Yeboah, a level 300 student of the School of Business, University of Ghana, who specializes in Public Administration and Information Studies has made a heartwarming donation to the students and staff of the Centre for Disability Studies and Advocacy (CEDSA).
On Thursday, December 19, Nkonimadom presented the centre with packs of UGel bottled water and Special drinks, symbolizing love, care, and inclusivity during this festive season.
Speaking to UniversNews, Nkonimadom revealed that his donation was motivated by a desire to share love and make the members of the centre feel valued and appreciated.
“There’s a centre which I’ve heard little to nothing about it; not just any centre but one as significant as the centre for people with disabilities which comprises people with issues that makes them feel unwanted in society. I know most of them have questions regarding their existence and whether they are loved by people in society. So, this to me was the best place to come, in this particular festive season to show them that we love them.”
Nkonimadom also emphasized the importance of inclusivity and accessibility, highlighting that people with disabilities deserve to experience joy and love, just like everyone else.
“I feel this is the best way to tell them that we love them. We must not just say it but give them something people don’t usually give them. The best gift everyone thinks of giving them first is a wheelchair which is good though but they forget that these people also need to be shown an aspect of joy and love where they will come together and realize that indeed people want to celebrate with them too.”
The students and staff of CEDSA were visibly touched by Nkonimadom’s thoughtful gesture, expressing their heartfelt gratitude to him and his team.
“We appreciate your gift and ask for blessings for you and a replenish of whatever you spent on us,” said Godsway, the President of the Students with Disabilities.
“In fact, we were not expecting. He really surprised us today, so we say God bless him so much.” another said.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Administrators of the Centre for Disability and Advocacy, Miss Efua Hagan and Miss Mabel Nununa.
