UG Stadium to host 2025 GHALCA Top 4 Tournament

The Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has officially announced that the much-anticipated Top Four Tournament for the 2024/25 football season will now take place at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium.

Originally scheduled for the Baba Yara Stadium and later moved to the Accra Sports Stadium, the tournament’s final relocation comes after recommendations from Green Grass Technology advised that the venue be preserved exclusively for Black Stars matches.

Confirming the changes on social media, National Sports Authority Director Yaw Ampofo Ankrah explained that the Accra Sports Stadium is being reserved for Ghana’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier against Mali, set between September 4–8, 2025.

The Top Four competition, kicking off on August 20, will feature the league’s best performers from last season: Bibiani GoldStars, Heart of Lions, Asante Kotoko, and Hearts of Oak.

The tournament is expected to offer the teams vital pre-season preparation ahead of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League campaign, which begins the weekend of September 12.
