The University of Media, Arts and Communication (UNIMAC) has suspended the reopening date for the 2024/2025 Academic Year, initially set for September 30, 2024.

This decision follows a strike by several tertiary unions, including the Technical University Senior Administrators Association of Ghana (TUSAAG), the Senior Staff Association of Universities of Ghana (SSA-UoG), and the Ghana Association of University Administrators (GAUA), over concerns related to working conditions.

In the statement, it also stated that admission processes for students enrolled in short courses and special programmes will proceed as scheduled.

In a press release issued on September 26, 2024, the university management indicated that a new reopening date will be announced once the industrial action is resolved.
