The UGSRC Vice President, Jeffrey Adu Yeboah, has donated a summer hut to the Department of Political Science.

In a ceremony held on Tuesday, July 15, the vice president noted that this gesture is part of his effort to give back to the department that shaped his leadership journey.

‎The brief but colourful event brought together several dignitaries, including the Vice-Chancellor, the Dean of Student Affairs, and the Patron of the Political Science Department, who all graced the occasion to show their support.

‎The donation was in response to the inadequate seating and relaxation spaces at the department. Students had often expressed the need for a comfortable and shaded place to meet, study, or relax between lectures — a need Jaylit said he personally experienced during his time as a student.

‎Speaking at the event, Jaylit emphasised that leadership is not about holding titles, but about making a lasting impact.

‎”Leadership shouldn’t be a title but an act. This is my way of giving back to the department that built me,” he stated.

‎The Vice-Chancellor and other guests praised the gesture, describing it as an example of alumni responsibility and initiative. The new summer hut is expected to benefit both staff and students of the department, providing a space for academic and social engagement.
