The University of Ghana Parliament House (UGPH) has called on the Ghanaian youth to demand accountability from the two major political parties in the run up to the 2024 National presidential and parliamentary elections.

In a press release dated 29th of July, 2024, the members of the Parliament House called all young people to make sure they peruse the policies of the political parties and demand answers from the incumbent government on their achievements so far.

The UGPH emphasized that key issues such as weak institutions, insufficient law enforcement, and a culture of monetized politics are driving corruption in the country. These are issues that need to be addressed and tackled by the anti corruption institutions such as the OSP office and the EOCO Economic and organized crime office, according to the UGPH.

With the 2024 General Election approaching, they demanded accountability from political parties regarding campaign financing and urged the Electoral Commission to enforce transparency laws. The UGPH concluded with a call for immediate and decisive action to combat corruption, restore hope for the youth, and ensure a brighter future for Ghana.
