#UGDecides’24: SRC opens nominations for executive positions

The University of Ghana’s Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Electoral Commission has announced the commencement of nominations for various executive portfolios effective July 7, 2024, ushering the school into an electoral climate.

This was made known via a communiqué released on the same day by the SRC EC.

“This is to inform the entire student body that the Electoral Commission has opened for the filing of nominations for the various executive officer portfolios today, July 7, 2024.”

The communiqué made known the available executive officer portfolios, which are:

* President and Vice President

* General Secretary

* Treasurer

It further specified the deadline for submission of all forms as July 13th, 2024, at 3 p.m., and with all forms required in printed forms and presented to any of the Electoral Commissioners.

“All nomination forms are to be printed and submitted to any of the Electoral Commissioners not later than Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 3 p.m.”

The communiqué, which was signed by the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mudasir Ibn Ibrahim, also stressed that the submission of nomination forms does not end with their submission to the electoral commissioners; they are only complete after the office of the Deen of Students Affairs verifies the CGPA of each aspirant.

“The filing of nominations does not end with the submission of the nomination forms to the Electoral Commissioners. The filling of nominations becomes complete after the verification of each aspirant’s CGPA by the Office of the Dean of Students’ Affairs.”

“All students interested in filing nominations for various executive officer positions can access and print the necessary forms by visiting the link below.”

This marks the beginning of the SRC elections period, the event set to last from July through to September.
