Former UGSRC presidential aspirants, Aki Ola and Raman Yussif have announced their intention to petition the Judicial Board concerning a leaked tape involving the current Electoral Commissioner, Mudasir-Ibn Ibrahim, and aspirant Emmanuel Owusu Amponsah, also known as “Manuel Life.”

Speaking on the Campus Exclusive, #Campex, the former aspirants expressed serious concerns about the integrity of the electoral process. They argued that the tape shows the Electoral Commissioner engaging with an aspirant in a way that compromises the fairness and transparency of the elections.

“A whole Electoral Commissioner that we have given the mandate to deliver free, fair, transparent, and credible elections, and you engage an aspirant…I see that there is a prima facie case here for him to be sacked, Management should not sit unconcern even if students do not initiate a process to get him sacked,” stated Aki Ola.

Aki Ola and Raman Yussif emphasized that the Electoral Commissioner, Mudasir-Ibn Ibrahim, admitted his involvement in the leaked tape, which they believe undermines the credibility of the electoral process. They plan to petition the Judicial Board to seek his removal from office.

“Myself and Raman Yussif will initiate the process to remove him. If you are an EC and you sit there to be remote-controlled by people who are not members of the Commission, dictating to you to look for information about a candidate to disqualify him like you did to us, then you should be removed. We will petition the Judicial Board ,” Aki Ola declared.
