President of the Finance Students and Associates at the University of Ghana Business School (UGBS), Priscillia Adele Ogor, has commended the school’s 45th Management Day celebration for placing a strong emphasis on entrepreneurship, innovation, and youth empowerment.

In an interview with Univers News, she described the event as inspiring and relevant, especially in the face of Ghana’s growing youth unemployment crisis.

“I’m very much appreciative of the fact that management this year decided to open their scope to include entrepreneurship and innovation.

I believe this has been an eye-opener to some students and a motivation to those who are looking towards going to entrepreneurship instead of looking for white-collar jobs as we’ve heard about unemployment rates being skyrocketing.”

She further praised the inclusion of industry professionals in the day’s program, noting that their insights provided a bridge between academic theory and real-world business practice.

“Most people like evidence before they make certain decisions. They like to see people that have taken that path. One of the line-up speakers is an entrepreneur, CEO.

So, seeing people of this profile gives them motivation that their ideas can go beyond being in their brains to becoming actual projects that people can benefit from. This programme actually is a motivating factor. It’s provided students with the confidence they need that they are not alone in terms of making decisions of entrepreneurship and innovation.”

The 45th Management Day, held on Wednesday, 16th July, 2025 under the theme “Marketing, Innovation and Entrepreneurship as Catalysts for Success in a 24-Hour Economy,” brought together policymakers, business leaders, faculty, and students to discuss how to stay competitive in an increasingly dynamic and flexible economic environment.
