UG: 5th Arab and Africa Impact Cratering and Astrogeology Conference slated for Nov 9-15 in Accra

The Department of Earth Science at the University of Ghana, in partnership with the African Initiative for Planetary and Space Science (AFIPS), is organising the 5th edition of the Arab and African Impact Cratering and Astrogeology Conference in Accra.

The prestigious and landmark event across the Afro- Arab community of Planetary geologists, Planetary and Space Scientists and allied professionals takes off from the 9th of November to the 15th of November, 2025, in the capital city of Ghana.

The main aim and purpose of the Conference is to create awareness and interest in Planetary and Space Science as well as bring stakeholders together to build capacity with a viewpoint of shedding more light on research and education in the field.

As preparations unfold towards the event, there has been a call for abstracts officially opened for students, researchers, academics, policymakers and interested persons to submit academic papers and reports they would want to present at this year’s conference.
