The University of Ghana was buzzing with excitement as students turned out in their numbers for the Telecel Turn Up — the headline Artiste Night that crowned this year’s Akwaaba Week celebrations.

The much-anticipated event, sponsored by Telecel Ghana, was organized to officially welcome freshers as they begin their academic journey on campus. Held at the University of Ghana Athletic Oval, the night brought together hundreds of students for an unforgettable experience.

The show featured electrifying performances from award-winning Ghanaian stars, including KiDi, Black Sherif, and Kwaku Smoke. The trio thrilled the audience with back-to-back hit songs, keeping the crowd on their feet and singing along throughout the night.

Speaking to Univers Entertainment, several students expressed their excitement and satisfaction with the organisation of the event.

“I loved everything about the event,” one student said. “It started on time, and my expectations were fully met. My favourite performance was from KiDi.”

Another student described the night as “lit,” praising the smooth organisation and high-energy performances.

“I really enjoyed it. Everything was well planned. I just hope next year’s event will be even bigger,” the student added.

However, not all reviews were glowing. Some students felt that Black Sherif’s performance fell short of expectations, describing it as less energetic compared to his usual stage presence.

“Overall, I enjoyed the show,” one student noted, “but I expected Blacko’s performance to be more energetic. It felt a little dull compared to what we’re used to.”

Despite the mixed reactions, the Telecel Turn Up Artiste Night ended on a high note. For many students, it was a memorable highlight of Akwaaba Week — and truly an event worth writing home about.
