Newly Inducted Executives of UG Senior Staff Association

In a historic milestone, the University of Ghana Senior Staff Association(SSA-UG) has inaugurated new executives, with the highlight being the swearing-in of its first female chairperson, Mrs. Gladys Alantiya.

Speaking at the ceremony, the newly elected chairperson, Mrs. Alantiya emphasized unity and collaboration as essential for the association’s success.

She expressed gratitude for the trust placed in her and the executives, pledging to uphold integrity, respect, and accountability while advancing the association’s goals.

“I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the trust and responsibility placed in me and the entire executive. I pledge to work tirelessly to justify your confidence in us and to elevate this association to greater heights. As Chairperson, I am guided by the tenets of integrity, respect, accountability, and the dedication of the entire SSA.”

Mrs. alantiya also acknowledged the contributions of her predecessors, vowing to build on their legacy.

“To my predecessor and other outgoing executives, I say ‘ayekoo.’ You have played your part, and we will continue the journey from here.”

Addressing the executives, she reminded them of their duty to lead without excuses and assured members of her commitment to listening, advocating for their rights, and promoting their welfare under labor laws and best practices.

“We have taken upon ourselves a great responsibility to lead our ranks, and we must do so without excuses.”

“To our dear members, I promise to listen attentively, be more responsive, and advocate for your rights and interests as enshrined in labor laws, labor acts, conventions, and best practices.”

The University of Ghana Senior Staff Association advocates for senior staff welfare, professional growth, and fair treatment while engaging with university management on labor issues.
