UG reschedules examinations ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr public holiday

The University of Ghana’s Academic Affairs Directorate has issued a press statement announcing the rescheduling of all examinations originally planned for Thursday, April 11, 2024.

This adjustment comes in response to the Ministry of Interior’s proclamation designating April 11 as a statutory public holiday in observance of Eid-ul-Fitr, marking the end of the month-long Ramadan fast.

The holiday marks the conclusion of the 30 days of dawn-to-sunset fasting during the entire month of Ramadan.

In the press statement dated Saturday, April 6, 2024, signed by the Director of the Head Teaching and Examination Unit, Mr. Frederick Yuorkuu, the following courses; Introduction to Soil and Environment, Development and Social Issues, Introduction to Computer Science and Studies have been shifted to subsequent days after the holiday.

Introduction to Soil and Environment(SOIL101) is set for this Friday, April 12,2024. Development and Social Issues Paper (SOWK111) has also been slated for the weekend precisely Sunday, April 14, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. Both papers are to be written onsite with physical booklets.

Similarly, Elements of Psychology(PSYC101/1111), Introduction to Computer Science(DCIT101) and Introduction to Computer Studies(BAHS113) papers have all been shifted to April 15, 16 and 18 respectively as they also take up the onsite online mode using Sakai.

Students of the university community are advised to take note of this new arrangement and prepare accordingly.
