Continuing students at the University of Ghana have shared practical tips on how freshers can make their stay on campus both entertaining and fulfilling.
As freshers arrive on Sunday, January 19, 2026, to begin their academic journey, continuing students are encouraging them to actively participate in social and recreational activities to remain relaxed, motivated, and mentally refreshed.
Speaking to Univers Entertainment, one student advised freshers to enjoy their time on campus and make the most of the university experience.
“Go out with friends, have fun, and if you want to start a business, do it. Don’t focus on what others are doing; just do what makes you happy in a positive way. Learn to manage your time, stay prayerful, and remain focused. Before you even realize it, you’ll be done with school.”
Another student highlighted the importance of socialization and campus engagement.
“I think they should take part in the entertainment activities organized by the school, such as the Akwaaba Nights. It’s about enjoying the experience, making good use of opportunities, and building connections with students offering the same course, especially those in higher levels.”
A third student encouraged freshers to explore the recreational facilities available on campus.
“They can entertain themselves by joining the swimming lessons. We have a big pool where they can go swimming, and they can also join the football teams for both males and females.”
The students believe that balancing academics with social and recreational activities will help freshers enjoy a more rewarding and memorable university life.
