The University of Ghana has successfully resolved a longstanding contractual dispute with Mulch Company Limited, formerly Pine Springs Company Limited, over managing the University of Ghana Botanical Gardens.

This marks the end of a legal battle that began years ago, with Mulch Company Limited now agreeing to
vacate the premises by November 30, 2024.

In a statement released by the university on October 12, 2024, it reaffirmed its commitment to preserving and enhancing the Botanical Gardens as a hub for beauty, learning, research, and recreation. This is aligned with the University’s broader mission of promoting sustainability and environmental
awareness.

The university also assured the public that the Legon Botanical Gardens will remain a green space for the community as repairs and renovations are ongoing.

The Gardens will be reopened to the public soon to fulfill its purpose as a vital green zone.

Below is the statement from Management of the University of Ghana.
