The Director of the Academic Affairs Directorate at the University of Ghana, Lydia Anowa Nyako-Danquah, has revealed that all graduands at the 2025 congregation ceremonies will receive medals and scroll cases to store their certificates.
In an exclusive interview on Radio Univers’ flagship morning show, Campus Exclusive, Mrs. Nyako-Danquah revealed that, subject to successful procurement and financial arrangements, every graduand will be presented with these mementos to mark their achievement.
She explained that the university aims to provide all graduands with a token that symbolizes their journey through the University of Ghana.
“All things being equal, we will provide graduands with medals and beautiful scroll cases to preserve their certificates. Tertiary education is a significant milestone, and we want graduands to feel proud of their accomplishment. This is not a consolation prize—everyone, from first-class honors to the very last, will receive a medal.”
Mrs. Nyako-Danquah noted that while the procurement of the souvenirs is still ongoing, the university is optimistic about meeting the timeline. However, alternative measures will be explored if challenges arise.
“We are optimistic about delivering the medals and scroll cases on time. While the process is still underway, we are committed to finding alternative solutions if necessary. With the time remaining, we are hopeful everything will be ready for the graduation.”
The 2025 congregation ceremonies are scheduled to take place from February 11 to February 21, 2025, across two venues: the Great Hall of the University of Ghana and the Cedi Conference Center Auditorium. The ceremonies will cover all colleges, with separate sessions for different programs.
The upcoming congregation promises to celebrate the achievements of all graduands while providing them with tokens of their hard work and dedication throughout their academic journey.
