In a groundbreaking moment for the sport in Ghana, the Teqball Federation of Ghana, under the guidance and support of the Normalization Committee successfully hosted the first-ever National Teqball Club Championship at the Accra Sports Stadium on Saturday, 12th July 2025.
The historic championship brought together top teqball clubs from across the country, signaling a new era for the fast-growing sport.
The event not only celebrated teqball’s rising popularity in Ghana but also served a critical purpose acting as a national ranking competition to select elite players for the Ghana national teqball team.
Clubs battled it out in intense matches that showcased athleticism, skill, and the unique flair teqball is known for.
The competition attracted teqball enthusiasts, officials, and supporters, all energized by the unity and passion the sport continues to inspire nationwide.
The Organizing Committee of the Teqball Federation extended its heartfelt appreciation to key partners and supporters, including the International Teqball Federation (FITEQ), Hon. Kojo Baah Agyemang the chairman of NC, Ransford Nortey, the participating Teqqers and the Ghanaian teqball fraternity.
Their contributions played an instrumental role in the success of this maiden championship.
This event marks a significant milestone in the Federation’s mission to institutionalize teqball as a recognized national sport, create competitive opportunities for players, and build a robust pipeline for international representation.
As teqball continues its impressive rise across Ghana and the globe, the Federation is calling on stakeholders, government bodies, and corporate Ghana to join the movement and support the development of this exciting and youth-driven sport.
