San Vankuva Construction Limited has cut sod to officially mark the commencement of the construction of a modern astro turf facility at Ashalley Botwe in the Greater Accra Region.

The event, held at Nii Sowah Din Cluster of Schools on Wednesday, April 9, 2026, brought together key stakeholders, including government officials, community leaders, sports enthusiasts, and representatives of the construction firm.

In his address, the Chief Executive Officer of San Vankuva Construction Limited, Samuel Ninson, emphasised the importance of investing in sports facilities, noting that the astro turf will provide a high-quality playing field for athletes.

He highlighted that the project is not only aimed at nurturing talent but also promoting healthy lifestyles and creating avenues for community interaction.

Traditional leaders and local authorities also expressed their appreciation for the initiative, stating that the facility would serve as a hub for youth development and help reduce social vices by engaging young people in productive activities.

According to the project brief, the astro turf will include modern features such as proper drainage systems, spectator stands, lighting, and changing rooms to meet standard requirements for training and competitive matches.

When completed, the facility is expected to host local and regional sporting events, attract talent scouts, and contribute to the overall development of sports in the area.

The ceremony concluded with a renewed sense of optimism, as stakeholders pledged their continued support to ensure its successful completion.
