In a league that rarely commands the spotlight, one player forced the football world to take notice.

In the 2025/25 football season, Swedru All Blacks striker Rudolf Mensah set the Division One League ablaze, netting an astonishing 27 goals in 30 matches.

His lethal finishing not only earned him the league’s golden boot but also powered his club to a well-deserved promotion to the Ghana Premier League.

A former talent at Liberty Professionals and Golden Kicks, Rudolf’s rise didn’t come as a shock to those who had tracked his steady development. But what exactly fuels his consistency and goal-scoring brilliance?

In a candid interview with Pius Asack on the Sports Night show, Rudolf reflected on his remarkable season.

“I never imagined it would go this well,” he admitted. But after I scored twice against Sekondi Eleven Wise, something shifted. I began to believe in the possibility of something big,” he told Univers Sports exclusively.

The path, however, was far from smooth. Travel to distant venues and poor pitch conditions posed constant challenges.

“The road trips, the tough pitches — they take a toll and as I started scoring more, defenders marked me tighter and tackled harder. But I stayed focused,” he added.

His eye-catching performances have naturally attracted attention. Several top-flight clubs have made enquiries, and whispers of foreign interest are growing louder. Still, Rudolf remains grounded.

“Yes, the interest is there. But I’m not rushing. I want the right move—not just a quick one,” he revealed.

When asked about his idols, he didn’t hesitate.

“Asamoah Gyan — people say we have similar styles. I watch his goals all the time. And Cristiano Ronaldo too, not necessarily my favorite, but I study his game for improvement,” he added.

Looking ahead to the upcoming Premier League season, Rudolf remains focused on one goal — survival.

“That’s the priority for All Blacks. Staying up. We’ll fight every week for that,” he concluded.

Still based at Swedru, training hard with his teammates, Rudolf hasn’t forgotten those who’ve supported him. With quiet determination, he’s preparing not just to compete — but to dominate.
