President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo, has directed his appointees to return all government vehicles.
This directive was communicated through a communique from the communications directorate of the Office of the President dated December 11, 2024.
“The Office of the President reiterates the directive regarding the acquisition of official government vehicles by outgoing Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Regional Ministers and other political appointees at the end of the current administration’s term in office.”
President Akufo Addo also reiterated that the policy which prohibits outgoing ministers and government appointees in his administration from purchasing government vehicles in 2020, his first term as President of the state, still holds and that all vehicles should be returned to the chief director of the various ministries and institutions by the close of January 3 ,2025.
“All government vehicles in the possession of these appointees must be returned to the Chief Director of the relevant Ministries no later than Friday, 3rd January, 2025.”
