Aduana Stars have relayed their concerns over an unsettling scene sighted in their dressing rooms ahead of their game with Kumasi Asante Kotoko
The Baba Yara Stadium saw a serene atmosphere as the Porcupines hosted rivals Aduana Stars in the GPL week 5 fixture on Friday.
The occasion was however marred by what Aduana’s PRO, Evans Oppong claimed to have discovered; stains of blood and concoctions were claimed to have been found in their dressing room.
The said game still managed to see an impressive effort from the home side pay off as Kalo Ouatarra scored the only goal of the day after connecting a cross from Aduana’s Richmond Lamptey into the goal post.
The controversies surrounding the match unfolded at the full time whistle as the Dormaa based side raised concerns about the stains of blood found in their dressing room as well as concerns about the shape of their dressing room. Aduana subsequently acclaimed their 1-0 defeat to Asante Kotoko, attributing the loss to the blood stains.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with UniversSports, Communications Member for Aduana Football Club, Evans Oppong gave further details on what was discovered in the dressing room of the Aduana Stars players.
”Before the game against Kumasi Asante Kotoko, our team got to the stadium around 4:30 pm. Upon arrival we were to change in the dressing room and move to the field for warmup. We found blood stains at the entrance of the dressing room. We opened the door to the dressing room then the floor was all stained with blood. We decided not to use the room till the match commissioner comes to take evidence of the place.”
“Our players were delayed in the team bus for more than 25 minutes till the match commissioner was done with his evidence. Some members of the NSA came to put the place in good shape before we entered the room.”
Evans Oppong also took the opportunity to express his appreciation for Kotoko’s display on the day despite Aduana’s accusations measured out on the Porcupines.
“Even though we did not get enough time to warm up because our warmup time was delayed by 15 minutes, I congratulate Kotoko because they played very well on that day.”
The club has formally written to the Ghana Football Association over the aforementioned issue and is waiting for feedback from the FA.
