Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations at the National Service Authority(NSA), Major Moses Dok Nach Kpeungu has announced an extension of the National Service evaluation deadline to Friday, February 6, 2026.

This follows an official communique released on Thursday, January 28, 2026 which initially set the evaluation deadline for NSS personnel on Friday January 30, 2026. However, concerns were raised over the heavy congestion at the various evaluation centers, making it almost impossible to complete the process on the initial deadline date.

Speaking on Campus Exclusive,he emphasized that the decision was made to ensure an orderly process at the various evaluation centers. According to him, most NSS personnel tend to wait until the deadline to submit their forms, which may lead to unnecessary chaos.

“Some people wait until when the deadline is issued, then they will all rush to the center. I want to state emphatically that we are postponing it, we don’t want chaos at the centers, so we will shift it to next week, Friday, but that will be the end. The more we delay, the more the allowances will delay. It has to be done as soon as possible for it to be processed.” He stated

He further cautioned that there will be no extension to the new final deadline, adding that any further delay will directly stall NSS personnel from receiving their monthly stipend.

Major Kpeungu explained that the evaluation process cannot be fully digitized, noting that physical presence is required to verify that personnel are actually reporting to their assigned duty posts.

“We cannot go completely digital with this process. if you are going completely digital, people can sit in their homes and validate the forms which will mean they will not go to wherever they are posted to.”

Despite the current hurdles, the Deputy Director-General assured personnel that the authority is taking steps to streamline the process for future months to prevent a recurrence of the current congestion.

“We have taken steps going forward. I’m not sure what we have witnessed this month will ever happen again. We have put measures in place to avert the situation.”

All NSS personnel are therefore urged to complete their evaluations promptly to ensure the timely payment of their allowances.
