Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has cautioned his party members to guard against complacency ahead of the December 2024 elections.

He was speaking at the formal presentation of Prof. Opoku-Agyemang as running mate of the NDC flagbearer on Wednesday, April 24, at the Kofi Ohene Konadu Auditorium at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA).

“I would like to caution everybody that we have not won yet, we are on the way to victory, but let’s guard against complacency,” Mr. Nketiah stated.

He also cautioned party executives not to fight over positions and who will make appointments provided the NDC is able to win the 2024 polls. He cited the killing of the spirit and enthusiasm of the party foot soldiers in the case of such event happening.

“We are already convinced that we are there, a lot of people have taken up positions and fighting over who will be what in the next government, indeed some people are not only fighting about the positions they will occupy but they are telling others that they will be kingmakers and they will be making the appointments but if we are not careful this will dump the spirits and enthusiasm of our followers, so I want to assure everybody that we are not there yet so don’t be fighting about positions.” he said.
