The National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) has called for urgent intervention from the National Service Authority (NSA) and its management board following the indefinite suspension of the Central Management System, which has disrupted operations and delayed the processing of allowances for thousands of service personnel across the country.
In a statement dated July 18, 2025, NASPA expressed concern over the growing dissatisfaction among service personnel and other stakeholders after the Ministry for Youth Development and Empowerment, acting on a presidential directive, announced the suspension on June 18, citing the need for a “comprehensive technical and forensic review of the platform.”
”While we acknowledge the need to maintain and secure critical systems, the sudden suspension has had significant consequences,” the letter said.
The suspension has left personnel unable to access their June evaluation forms — a key requirement for processing their monthly allowances. The delay has sparked anxiety, with the statutory deadline for form submission having already passed on July 15.
NASPA also noted that registration for prospective national service personnel has come to an unexpected halt, with no clear communication from the NSA on when the system will be restored. The uncertainty, it added, is fueling concern about a potential postponement of the upcoming military training scheduled to begin on August 3.
”As the official representatives of the National Service Personnel, we have done our best to encourage patience and calm. However, we emphasize that personnel deserve timely payment of their allowances and regular transparent communication from the Authority, especially in times like these,” the statement read.
The association has urged the NSA to take swift and decisive action to resolve the issue and prioritize the welfare of service personnel who continue to serve the nation.
