The Minority in Parliament has called for the Minister of Health to appear before the House and provide a detailed update on the reported rise in COVID-19 cases at the University of Ghana.

Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, made the call during a session in Parliament, urging the House to act swiftly.

They argue that the situation is worsening and creating fear among the public, and believe the Minister must be open and transparent about the current health crisis.

“We don’t want a repeat of what the country experienced in the past. It’s time to act quickly, and I urge the leadership of the House to arrange for the Health Minister to address this issue,” he said.

Supporting the call, MP for Nalerigu/Gambaga, Nurudeen Muhammed Mumuni, stressed the need for the Minister to clarify whether or not the country is facing a renewed COVID-19 outbreak.

“It’s a serious matter. We need the Minister to respond and inform the public if COVID is back,” he added.
