The Ministry of Health has confirmed the successful processing of salaries for 321 Pharmacist House Officers who completed their housemanship in 2024.
In a statement released on July 29, the Ministry described the payments as a significant step toward addressing long-standing financial commitments within the health sector. The development comes as welcome news to many stakeholders who have long advocated for timely compensation for health professionals.
“The Ministry of Health has successfully processed salary payments for 321 Pharmacist House Officers who completed their housemanship in 2024, marking a significant step toward addressing outstanding financial obligations within the sector,” the statement noted.
The Ministry also addressed growing concerns among the 2024 batch of rotation nurses and allied health interns, assuring them that their payments are imminent.
“The Ministry acknowledges the concerns of the 2024 batch of Rotation Nurses and Allied Health Interns, who began in May 2024 and completed their rotations in May 2025 but have not yet received their salaries. The Ministry is actively working with the relevant government agencies to prioritise and expedite the clearance process to ensure the timely disbursement of all outstanding salaries,” the statement added.
The Ministry further reaffirmed its commitment to resolving the issue and ensuring such delays are prevented in the future.
“We wish to reassure all affected Rotation Nurses and Allied Health Interns that their concerns are being addressed as a matter of urgency. The Ministry is also taking steps to implement a sustainable system that prevents such delays going forward.”
