The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced the immediate removal of Mr. Charles Akwasi Aidoo from his position as Assistant Headmaster (Academic) of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology Senior High School (KNUST SHS), following the emergence of a viral video with a female student that showed him in a compromising situation and sparked serious concerns.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Unit of the GES on September 29, 2025, the Service noted that its attention had been drawn to the video circulating widely on social media platforms. The GES described the matter as one of “utmost seriousness,” prompting swift administrative action.
“The attention of the Management of the Ghana Education Service was drawn to a viral video circulating on social media, allegedly involving Charles Akwasi Aidoo in a compromising position with a female student. Management views this matter with utmost seriousness,” the statement read.
The statement, signed by the Head of Public Relations, Daniel Fenyi, emphasised that the Service remains resolute in its efforts to uphold the integrity of the teaching profession.
“The Ghana Education Service wishes to assure the general public of its unwavering dedication to high standards and will continue to investigate the matter thoroughly,” it added.
The GES also assured parents and guardians that it would act decisively in matters that threaten the reputation and values of the nation’s schools.
“GES remains committed to upholding the highest standards of professionalism, discipline, and child protection in all our schools. We strongly condemn any acts that compromise the safety, dignity, and well-being of students,” the statement concluded.
