Contractors of Accra Hearts of Oak’s new commercial center have officially handed over the keys to the club, marking a huge milestone for the Accra-based side.

The handover event which took place on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, was attended by dignitaries including Executive Chairman, Togbe Afede XIV, together with board members Vincent Sowah Odotei and Akwasi Agyemang, CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority.

Hearts of Oak demolished the club’s secretariat two years ago to pave way for the newly commissioned commercial center, which matches the status of the club.

“This is a demonstration of our commitment to building an infrastructural base for Accra Hearts of Oak,” Togbe Afede XIV revealed during the handover event.

After speaking confidently about the club’s commitment to assembling the best football squad possible, Togbe Afede added that better days are ahead for Hearts of Oak.

“I want to assure all of our stakeholders that this is just the beginning. Great things will happen for Accra Hearts of Oak.”

According to Project Manager Lord Eshun, the commercial center is expected to draw a similar level of interest as those operated by some of the most prominent football clubs in the continent.

“You are a witness to the edifice, you have been through and you see with the facilities that it has. It’s basically a semi-smart building. It has all the facilities that need a commercial building like this to work on.
I am sure it can be so much comparable to so many within West Africa and Africa”, he said

The Phobia Fraternity hopes that off-field progress will boost on-field success when the season resumes on September 6.

Hearts of Oak are also preparing for the upcoming season, hoping to strengthen their squad after narrowly escaping relegation last season, finishing 14th on the Ghana Premier League table.
